What is a
miniature?

Miniatures are a really fun challenge to any artist who enjoys detail.

Miniature artworks are generally subject to two main rules:

  1. The One-Sixth Rule: According to this rule your subject needs to be depicted in one-sixth of life size or less.  In other words – if you’re drawing a bird that is normally 24cm in length, you’ll need to render it in 4cm or less.
  2. Your completed artwork needs to be smaller than 17cm x 17cm including the frame and mount.

HOw to Enter

  1. Entry is only open to members, so if you haven’t done so yet – join now!
  2. Download the Prospectus below – this document has all the important exhibition information you need to enter. You can enter and pay online or – if you prefer – download the entry form and send your entry via email. 
  3. Get drawing!  You can enter as many artworks as you’d like, so get busy! The Deadline is 30 June 2023.

  3. Get drawing!!  You can enter as many artworks as you like, but remember the deadline is Wednesday 17 April 2024.
