Miniature Art is fascinating. We admire the skill with which these artists produce their minute artworks and only recently learned that South Africa also has an active Miniature Art Society.
We’ve bounced the idea around a bit and we’d love to know what you think. Dry media lends itself to creating detailed artworks, so why not see what we can do in miniature?
According to international rules these artworks may not measure larger than 170mm x 170mm including the frame. They are also quite strict about frame size and for the artwork the 1/6 rule applies. This means that if you are drawing a 30cm ruler, the ruler should be drawn in 5cm or less.
