The Opening Night of the Degrees of Realism Art Exhibition hosted by The Drawing Guild at the Weylandts Nelspruit showroom proved to be a huge success.
Nine artists took part in the showcase, highlighting what can be achieved in the dry mediums of pastel, coloured pencil and graphite. The exhibition covered a variety of subjects, from wildlife and landscapes to portraits, botanicals and tasteful nudes.
The exhibition was formally opened by Founder Henriette van Staden who explained the ideals of The Drawing Guild. She invited attendees to step up and really inspect the level of skill and execution of the artworks. Realism is an extremely unforgiving genre but the art set a high standard for exhibitions to follow and this sentiment was widely echoed by the audience.
Our official photographer, Casandra Jacobs, managed to really capture the excitement and vibe of the evening. It was well attended by the locals and we also managed to get a view rave reviews!
What a way to kick off the first Art Exhibition – we truly cannot wait for the next art event.
This Exhibition can now be viewed online until 30 November 2020 – simply follow the link in the main menu.
