We are very excited to announce our very first Exhibition taking place at Weylandts Nelspruit from 22 – 24 October 2020.

Our artists have been hand-picked and are some of the best in their respective mediums in our country. All artworks will be done in Pastel, Coloured Pencil or Graphite and will be across a myriad of subjects ranging from Portraits, Wildlife, Botanical, Landscapes and Nudes.

The idea for the theme comes from the fact that most dry mediums lend themselves really well to creating realistic artworks. Realism is viewed as the beginning of the modern art movement, but can be considered as one of the oldest genres. From the earliest time man preoccupied himself with creating scenes or likenesses to remember a person or scene.

Degrees of Realism depicts all the steps – from Hyperrealism (where the artist captures minute detail in such a way that it can be akin to a high-resolution photograph), all the way to a step before impressionism.

With 2020 having been a disaster for most artists, we hope that this amazing showcase will be the first of many, and a step closer to helping our artists to keep on creating their beautiful artworks.
